BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
I use oil paint, watercolors, colored pencils, and ink in my work. I use each medium alone and I also combine them to create my works of art. I tend to lean more towards painting animals and people and I have been commissioned to paint pets.
When it is available to me, I also enjoy working with a letterpress using linoleum block prints to create layered ink images. My independent study as a senior at the College of St. Benedict was to create a serious of bird prints using my own linoleum block carvings, some of which were displayed in my show at Clemens Library in St. Joseph. I have also interned with local letterpress printer Mary Bruno for three years.
Besides my art, I have three years experience in storytelling from my years in high school. I traveled to the State Speech Competition for storytelling and I thoroughly enjoy creating my own characters and renditions of the stories.
