Artist in Residency Grant

CMAB Fiscal Year starts July 1, 2015 and ends June 30, 2016

The Artist in Residency (AIR) program provides funds up to $3,500 to schools and nonprofit organizations in support of artist residencies that will enhance education through the arts. These funds are provided through the Minnesota’s Arts Legacy Fund.

Resident artists must be chosen on the basis of their ability to enhance programs and curriculum.

Essential Components of the AIR Enhancing Education through the Arts.
  • Residency with students/core group for a minimum of four hours
  • Teachers/staff must be present at all times during the residency while artists are working with K-12 students
  • Community awareness (sharing the impact of student learning through the arts by including/inviting families and the community to observe/participate in the residency)
  • Teacher/coordinator in-service session with the artist
  • Student assessment developed by artist and teacher/coordinator (assessment of student growth as a result of the residency)

WHO CAN APPLY  

  • Nonprofit 501(c) (3) arts organizations located within the Minnesota counties of Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, and Wright. (Region 7W) and serving Region 7W residents
  • Arts organizations or arts groups without nonprofit designation that are using a fiscal agent
  • Nonprofit organizations, that do not have arts as a primary focus, such as schools, senior centers, community education, cultural groups and colleges
