Central Minnesota Arts Board Receives Statewide Recognition For Effective Use Of Legacy Funds
WILLMAR – Conservation Minnesota and Minnesota Citizens for the Arts recognized the Central Minnesota Arts Board on Thursday at Arts Advocacy Day for the impact the organization is having statewide utilizing funds provided by the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment.
In 2008, the voters of Minnesota overwhelmingly approved the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment which added 3/8 of one percent to the state’s sales tax, and dedicated the revenue to projects that would help preserve the state’s arts and outdoors legacy. READ MORE
Ten Area Artists Receive CMAB/McKnight Individual Artist Awards
Ten CMAB/McKnight Individual Artist Award (IAA) recipients were announced this week.
The $5,000 Established Artist Award is designed for artists with a history of exhibition, performances, publications, or other notable contributions to their local arts community through personal creative output. The $3,000 Emerging Artist Awards recognize and encourage outstanding artists in various stages of their careers. READ MORE
CMAB awards Community Arts Support Grants to nineteen area arts organizations
The Central Minnesota Arts Board (CMAB), at their March 12, 2014 meeting, awarded nineteen Community Arts Support Grants totaling $114,372.The Community Arts Support Grant program provides funds equaling up to 15% of the last completed fiscal year’s annual operating expenses or $10,000, to nonprofit arts organizations located in Benton, Sherburne, Stearns or Wright County. Central MN Arts Board Awards Artist In Residency Grant to Talahi Community School
At the March 12, 2014 meeting, the Central Minnesota Arts Board (CMAB) awarded $2,700 in Arts Legacy funds to Talahi Community School for an Artist In Residency.
Artist in Residencies (AIR) are designed to enhance education through the arts with supportive grants to schools and nonprofit organizations. The intention of any residency proposal must be to increase interaction between students, community members and professional artists. READ MORE
