Batik on paper/ collage assemblage

I am a printmaker who enjoys the medium of collagraphs, printed in the intaglio method. I create very limited series, and like to experiment with plates and challenging the medium to its limits. My images sometimes reflect my heritage and incorporate humor. I also like to incorporate the medium of batik on paper when I want stronger color. Frequently I collage and assemble my papers into new compositions, layering, and incorporating fiber techniques. Art education was my focus for thirty-six years; now I have developed programs for adult learners addressing aging, and issues of social justice. Visual arts are a perfect vehicle for developing community and fostering dialogue.
