Mosaic

I configure shards of materials into abstract or representational renderings. As I position these tesserae, a full story falls into place¬––a union of my own story, that of my subject matter and those of the materials I select to execute my designs. Projects come alive, and the sense of coming full circle with life breathes in me. And for those who care to receive it, I share a small part of my complete story with every mosaic I piece together.
My inspiration does not come from a single source but from the moment, seasons, feelings, and sounds that envelop me. Ideas swirl around for months before coming to fruition as a tangible piece of mosaic art. The medium has been invigorated and matured with my mosaicked animal skulls. I feel as though I’m giving the beautiful animals a second chance at “life” or providing a testament to their lives through my work. Skulls are my artistic platform.
