The Public Art program provides funding for the creation of art intended for the public experience in public spaces or settings. It can be visual, performing, literary, or media arts, and may be temporary or permanent. Public art activity cannot be part of an organization’s regular season or ongoing programs. Temporary public art should be meaningful, impactful and made accessible through documentation for at least one year after completion.

There is no maximum request amount, but funds are limited.  Proposals require a financial match in revenue of 25% or more of the total proposal expenses. Funding for this program is made possible by Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
