At the May 9, 2024, meeting, the Central MN Arts Board (CMAB) awarded $10,000 in Arts Access Grants to area organizations.
The Arts Access Grant program provides up to $5,000 in funding to cultural community groups and nonprofit organizations in support of arts-focused activities that increase Minnesotan’s access to the arts and celebrate diverse cultural expression. This grant program is made possible by the voters of Minnesota thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
The following organizations were awarded:
• Higher Works Collaborative, $5,000, to support “Juneteenth Live” featuring a variety of live visual artists, spoken word, storytelling, dancing, and music during the 28th Annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 14, 2024, at Lake George in St. Cloud, MN.
• Internal Housing Assistant, $5,000, to support cultural expression through visual arts, music, traditional clothes, national flags, and performing arts during Somali Independence Day July 1, 2024, at Lake George in St. Cloud, MN.
The Central Minnesota Arts Board supports collaborative and innovative arts opportunities through partnerships and financial investments in Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, and Wright counties as one of eleven Regional Arts Councils designated by the Minnesota State Arts Board working with community partners to increase access to the unique cultural assets of Minnesota.
