CMAB Awards Teaching Artist Grant to Area Artist

At the September 16, 2021 meeting, the Central MN Arts Board (CMAB) awarded Teaching Artist, Dan Mondloch $2,000 to provide a 4-day watercolor and art history residency for 2nd-6th graders at St. Mary’s School in Melrose. Students will use watercolor techniques to create their own rendition of the famous artist’s work following the lesson on each historical artists, their style, and the period they worked in.

The Teaching Artist Grant is available to artists who complete the CMAB Teaching Artist Roster Program and are listed on CMAB’s Teaching Artist Roster. The goal of the program is to support local artists in sharing their knowledge, skills and process with learners throughout the region by increasing the opportunities for artist residences.

Funding for the TAG program is provided by the McKnight Foundation.
